Huawei Bids Farewell to Windows, HarmonyOS Expands from Phones to PCs
Huawei's September 24 event will unveil new smart wearables, screens, and more. Expect Mate 70 series with Kirin chip and HarmonyOS PC to replace Windows on laptops.
Huawei recently announced it will hold its Autumn All-Scenario New Product Launch on September 24. The event is expected to introduce new products across smart wearables, smart screens, smart home systems, and HarmonyOS.
The teaser hints that Huawei may introduce a new brand ambassador at the event.
However, the previously rumored nova 13 series and the HarmonyOS NEXT official version may not appear at this launch.
Rumors suggest Huawei's product timeline is “nova 13 series in October, Mate 70 series in November, and Mate X6 dual-fold in November.”
A blogger revealed a flagship prototype with a centered 3D face recognition display, large screens, metal frame, and oval rear camera. The final model may differ.
The new Mate 70 series is expected to feature a new Kirin chip, and the HarmonyOS NEXT update is almost ready.
In addition to flagship phones, Huawei’s upcoming laptops may no longer use Windows, switching to HarmonyOS for future models.
On Huawei’s developer site, a "HarmonyOS PC" layout appears, with a simpler design than Windows, offering improved connectivity across devices. Leading software makers are already collaborating on apps for HarmonyOS PC.
Huawei's PC ecosystem may be worth looking forward to.
